Universal Music hires Fixmer as VP of global comms; Miami Dolphins appoint CMO and comms SVP; PMK-BNC promotes Sullivan.

SANTA MONICA, CA: Universal Music Group has named Andy Fixmer as VP of global communications. He previously worked at Bloomberg Businessweek and Mashable during his career in journalism. Fixmer will report to Will Tanous, EVP and head of global communications, and will be based in Santa Monica.

MIAMI: The Miami Dolphins named Jeremy Walls and Jason Jenkins as SVP and CMO and SVP of communications and community affairs, respectively. Jenkins’ responsibilities include directing communications and community affairs, including digital and the Miami Dolphins Foundation.

LOS ANGELES: PMK-BNC has promoted Taj Sullivan to SVP of experiential marketing. She has worked with clients such as Samsung Mobile, Nike’s Jordan brand, JC Penney, and Jenny Craig during a 13-year career at the firm.

HOUSTON: Saxum has opened an office in Houston and hired Teresa Henderson as SVP of client development. She was previously SVP and GM of Pierpont Communications in Dallas and EVP and regional GM for Edelman in Dallas and Austin.

NEW YORK: Rubenstein Public Relations has been named AOR for Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment’s production of Rent in Havana, Cuba. It will be the first full Broadway musical held in the country in 50 years, the firm said in a statement.

WASHINGTON: The Hill has named Neetzan Zimmerman as senior director of audience and strategy. He is working to expand the publication’s reach into new markets, and reporting to editor-in-chief Bob Cusack. Zimmerman was previously leader of editorial operations for Whisper and senior editor at Gawker.

NEW YORK: Business Wire has promoted Kim Deonanan to regional VP for Northern and Central Europe. She joined Business Wire’s London office in 2002. Meghann Johnson was promoted to regional manager.

WASHINGTON: JDA Frontline has hired Kelly Cushman as EVP and Laurie Rossbach as VP. Cushman previously was an SVP at Goddard Gunster, while Rossbach has worked at FTI Consulting, Burson-Marsteller, and Edelman.

NEW YORK: Lumentus has hired Christine Bertinelli as a senior partner. She was previously a partner and GM at Instinctif Partners, running its New York office, and VP at Go Productions, an event production and management firm.

SALT LAKE CITY: Graphic-solution provider ChyronHego has hired Wall Street Communications as its exclusive media relations and content marketing agency. The firm will work to boost ChyronHego’s visibility.

WASHINGTON: Sustainable energy technology company Abengoa has named Ignacio Garcia Alvear as co-CFO. He will be responsible for investor relations and capital markets. Garcea Alvear joined the company in 1995.
