Food and drink marcoms agency Elliotts promotes James Hacon to MD

Elliotts, the specialist marcoms agency for the food, drink and hospitality sectors, has promoted James Hacon to managing director and made further appointments in its senior team.

Hacon was previously director of marketing and insights at Elliotts, whose clients include PizzaExpress, Spirit Pub Company and Pret a Manger. He joined Elliotts this year and has overseen projects with blue chip clients such as Tragus, Sodexo and Brakes, as well as pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline.

Elliotts has also appointed Bernadette Ahmed, former corporate comms manager at Domino’s Pizza and interim head of PR at Ocado, to the role of PR director. Caroline Jameson, previously of Unilever, Ogilvy and BBDO, has been recruited as director of insights.

Elliotts’ team recently expanded from 12 to 20 people and the company said year-on-year turnover grew by 42 per cent.

The time was right to bring in a managing director to work with me to take the agency forward, and I’m delighted that in James we have someone who is more than ready to step up to the plate."
