Bell Pottinger has been hired following a competitive pitch.

Focusrite, which reported underlying earnings of £8.2m in its 2014 financial year on revenue of £41m, plans to float on AIM next month as it looks to grow market share. The company’s products sell in about 160 territories and it has a marketing subsidiary in Los Angeles.

Focusrite, based in High Wycombe, said it has a "strong pipeline" of products to be launched by September 2016.

Its two established brands are Focusrite, which makes audio interface products and other items for audio recording musicians; and Novation, which lets customers make electronic music using synthesisers and computer-enabled technology.
