The Forge lands launch brief for discount card Silversurfers

The Forge Communications has picked up the account for the launch of Silversurfers Silvercard+, a discount card for people aged over 50, following a non-competitive pitch.

The Forge will be working with Silvercard+ on a consumer and trade launch this winter. 

The agency will target national finance media before moving on to mainstream consumer media early next year.

Holly Ward, co-founder of The Forge, said: "The over-fifties demographic represents a huge opportunity for brands and the launch of Silvercard+ provides them with a practical and enticing way to engage with this audience. We feel that there are many stories to tell in this space and will be working on a handcrafted communications plan."

Silvercard+ is a discount card specifically designed for the over-fifties, which gives them access to exclusive offers and deals and was developed Silversurfers.com, a news and lifestyle portal for this demographic.

Martin Lock, chief executive of Silversurfers.com, said The Forge understood the potential of its discount card, which is the website’s first product launch.
