Airbnb set to appoint new UK consumer PR agency

Accommodation-sharing business Airbnb has invited agencies to pitch for its UK PR work, which it is understood incumbent Freuds has decided not to defend.

PRWeek understands that Airbnb has completed the chemistry phase and has invited a handful of agencies to pitch.

The move follows the appointment of Airbnb chief marketing officer Jonathan Mildenhall, who joined the company in May this year from Coca-Cola.

Last month Airbnb launched a social media campaign in partnership wth Waterstones to host a sleepover in its flagship bookshop in Piccadilly. The campaign attracted widespread media coverage and increased followers on its Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Airbnb and Freuds declined to comment.
