The French marketing services group generated quarterly revenues of €447m ($554m / £350m), up from €414m in the same period last year.

Like larger rival Publicis Groupe, which recently reported organic growth of 1 per cent, it does not break out its PR performance from its group results.

Chief executive Yannick Bolloré said: "These highly satisfactory results, and the growth in net new business [of an estimated €415m in annualized revenue] underscore the effectiveness of our "Together" strategy, which we introduced at the start of the year."

About half of the group’s revenue comes from Europe, where it experienced organic growth of 6.7 per cent, including 8.6 per cent in the UK.

North America revenues came in at €145m, with organic growth of 4.7 per cent.

New business won during the quarter included Cake’s project for Virgin Atlantic’s introduction of its new Boeing 787 fleet.
