Gibson, who starts the role immediately, was previously director of consumer at Bottle PR for two years. This is her second spell at Cirkle, as she was a senior account executive at the firm 10 years ago. She has since worked at Red, Clarion, Hill & Knowlton and Bottle PR.

The agency’s 15-strong consumer division includes Toys R Us, Right Guard and Mission Foods. Gibson will be responsible for campaign strategy, planning and delivery, company growth and new business opportunities. The role is a new position within the company.

Ruth Allchurch, managing director at Cirkle, said: "Her ethos of influencing behaviour change and driving commercial results for clients, coupled with her strong leadership skills, made her an ideal fit for Cirkle."

Gibson said: "Having started my career at Cirkle over 10 years ago, you could say I’ve come ‘full circle’ – I’m delighted to return ‘home’ at such an exciting time in the agency’s evolution – I’ve watched Cirkle closely over the years and have been hugely impressed with its business performance and unique culture."

The new appointment comes as the agency has been brought in for multivitamin and herbal supplement brand Nature’s Way, which is owned by Dr Willmar Schwabe Pharmaceuticals GmbH & Co. KG. There was a five-way pitch for the account, which was previously held by Pegasus.

The agency will start work immediately, handling the brand’s UK consumer PR and digital remit. It will launch an integrated campaign to support growth, raise awareness of the products, generate consumer engagement, stimulating trial and driving e-commerce sales among the brand’s core target of women over 35.
