NEW YORK: Spong PR senior principal and New York office director Lori Robinson is joining MWW as an SVP in its New York consumer marketing practice.

NEW YORK: Spong PR senior principal and New York office director Lori Robinson is joining MWW as an SVP in its New York consumer marketing practice.

Tara Naughton, EVP and New York and New Jersey consumer marketing practice leader at MWW, noted Robinson’s experience in consumer, technology, and health and wellness communications in a statement on the hire.

"She will play a key leadership role in the New York consumer marketing practice helping to grow both our clients and teams and deliver great work," she said.

Robinson will report to Naughton.

Robinson said in a statement that MWW’s "culture and values resonated strongly" with her.

Spong PR does not have an immediate replacement in mind for Robinson, confirmed Doug Spong, president of the eponymous firm. The Interpublic Group agency is looking both internally and externally for the right candidate to fill the position. He called Robinson "a great leader" and said he’s "heartbroken" she is leaving the firm.

Before Spong, until recently known as Carmichael Lynch Spong, Robinson worked at Hill & Knowlton, where she oversaw the New York consumer division. She previously worked at GCI and Edelman.

Earlier this month, MWW hired Jess Seilheimer, former SVP of digital innovation and strategic planning at Havas, as chief strategy officer.

The firm reported revenue of $48 million for 2013, up 12% globally and 9% in the US on a year-over-year basis.
