Kay’s manager Jonathan Shalit approached Alan Edwards, CEO of the Outside Organisation, to represent the opera singer following her signing to record label Sony Classical.
The agency will promote the singer through both print and online media ahead of the launch of her debut album in September, but will also work with her on an ongoing basis.
Edwards said: "Everybody expected a great voice having seen Lucy on Britain's Got Talent – that was a given, really – but the bonus was her easy-going and down-to-earth personality.
"She has even made a reference to drinking Guinness, which – as we all know – is unusual for someone among the opera crowd. It is refreshing. From a PR point of view, that's really helpful in terms of moving away from the sometimes stuffy image that opera has in some quarters."
