Bailey will become MD for corporate & technology next month in a merging of two roles set to be left vacant by the exits of Jonathan Oates and Paul Wooding, who head up corporate and technology respectively.
She arrives after two years at Edelman, where she was a director specialising in energy and industrials. She previously spent more than eight years at Hill+Knowlton Strategies.
Red CEO Mike Morgan said the merging of the posts "made sense", adding: "She’s a perfect fit to lead the formal combining of our already strong corporate and technology practices – realising an ambition we have had for some time."
Oates, who confirmed he would be moving into an in-house role at the start of September but declined to comment further, is understood to have played a role in handling Red’s key Samsung account. He joined the agency in December.
Wooding departs next month after two-and-a-half years to handle comms as a consultant at mobile phone manufacturer Bullitt, but will also continue to act as a consultant for the agency.
He said: "Bullitt is an exciting company showing fast growth, and having worked with brands like Samsung, LG and Orange I’m looking forward to starting there.
"I am sad to be leaving but it has been difficult to commit to being the MD of a busy team and I need more flexibility to spend more time with my daughter and family."
