Telecoms and TV company TalkTalk has called a review of its financial and corporate PR and is parting company with incumbent agency Bell Pottinger.

It is understood that the process is yet to reach the pitch stage, but head of external comms Alex Birtles has drawn up a longlist of agencies.

Bell Pottinger has declined to take part, but remains in place on public affairs work, and chief executive James Henderson said: "We respect TalkTalk’s decision to look for a new approach in financial PR and it remains a group client."

The review does not affect the consumer brief held by Good Relations Brand Communications.

TalkTalk originally awarded the brief in 2011, before Bell Pottinger’s split from Good Relations parent company Chime Communications.

The financial element went to Pelham Bell Pottinger, the public affairs element to Bell Pottinger Public Affairs and the corporate element to Good Relations.

It is understood that corporate work is now included in the financial PR brief.

TalkTalk declined to comment.
