Sugrue will leave at the end of September to set up as an independent consultant advising technology and B2B clients. Leadership of the London office will be taken on by senior vice president EMEA Chris Talago.
Talago is also taking on business development responsibilities from Balachandran. He is leaving for personal reasons, having decided to return to India to be with his family, according to an agency spokesman.
Of Balachandran, the spokesman added: "We hope that we might someday be able to extend the great work he did for us in EMEA into APAC."
Nick Meir and Simon Cliffe, who lead the agency’s broadcast team, are also leaving to launch their own standalone agency but are in discussions with the agency around continuing "an ongoing partnership".
The agency also confirmed the recent departure of head of insight and analytics Colin Wheeler, who left last month to set up independently, and will be consulting Waggener Edstrom.
The spokesman stated that the five departures were the result of "a combination of the typical reasons that happen through the normal course of business as a workforce evolves".
