Marcie Kohenak leads Zeno Group’s Washington, DC, office and manages two of the agency’s flagship healthcare clients – Merck and AstraZeneca.
Those are extraordinary achievements in themselves, particularly as she hasn’t yet reached her 30th birthday.
On joining the company, Kohenak quickly established herself as a pivotal team member and mastered working in the highly regulated industry of healthcare.
Career highlights to date include her innovative work for AstraZeneca’s oncology breast cancer brands. For Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2013, her team launched an unbranded website devoted to supporting patients during treatment.
While sponsored by AstraZeneca, the site carries no corporate content or product information. Zeno worked with the company’s digital agency and longstanding marketing AOR to create this groundbreaking cross-functional online platform.
"Marcie is viewed as a true subject-matter expert and a real resource for our teams," says Valerie Bomberger, senior communications consultant, oncology AstraZeneca. "She is always so helpful in helping the new kids on the block get up to speed. She is a true rock star in the world of PR."
For Merck, Kohenak manages campaigns for three of the company’s leading vaccines. She also leads its first above-the-brands program, which continues to exceed targets. Now in its third year, the initiative has become the foundation for all brand programs and thought leadership activities.
Known for her "positive and can-do attitude," Kohenak is also a "master of detail," who can execute successful strategies across several continents, according to colleagues.
Zeno CEO Barby Siegel describes her as a pillar of the company whose "fearless spirit" has earned the respect of clients, peers, and the industry at large.
"I have never worked with anyone as poised, prepared, and perpetually intuitive as Marcie," adds Stephanie Tortorici, EVP at Zeno Health. "Her insights and dedication are essential to the success of our work with our health clients. I am fortunate to work with someone of her caliber."
