As a PR pro, Sara Garibaldi is "the total package," according to colleagues.
In 13 short years, the past six at Ketchum, she has already made an extraordinary contribution to the industry.
She currently leads the firm’s relationship with Gillette in North America and is among the agency’s senior talent guiding global engagement with Procter & Gamble, one of Ketchum’s largest clients.
Under her guidance, the firm represents the full Gillette personal grooming portfolio for men. Last year, its work on the multi-channel launch of the P&G brand’s Man of Steel campaign was recognized as PRWeek’s 2014 Campaign of the Year, as well as Arts, Entertainment & Media Campaign of the Year. The effort generated fantastic results, including a double-digit increase in sales at Gillette’s top retailer.
"Sara is an incredible steward of our business," says Kurt Iverson, communications leader for Gillette North American Shave Care. "She consistently and credibly provides smart counsel and leads a well-orchestrated team that delivers with excellence."
Prior to her work with Gillette, Garibaldi oversaw Ketchum’s relationships with various consumer brands.
Born to Argentinian parents, she is a first-generation, bilingual American who is committed to the agency’s work in reaching diverse communities. In fact, Garibaldi has led Ketchum’s work in this area for Ikea, JPMorgan Chase, and Wendy’s.
Other key achievements include her work with long-time client H&R Block to transform its annual tax day campaign through a word-of-mouth effort that drove consumers into stores to engage with tax experts.
In 2011, Garibaldi and her team scooped multiple awards for work to support Absolut’s launch of Absolut Brooklyn, which involved a partnership with Spike Lee.
"When I try to recruit people to Ketchum or even persuade them to learn more about our field, I cite Sara as an example," says Mike Doyle, partner and director of the firm’s New York office. "She has accomplished so much in her career already and done so with integrity and professional grace. Best of all, what we’ve seen so far is just the prologue."
