NEW YORK: Bridget Coffing, SVP and CCO at McDonald’s Corporation, will be chair of judges for the PRWeek Awards 2015, which open for entries today.
Now entering its 16th year, the PRWeek Awards are firmly established as the highest accolade in the communications industry, celebrating the work of the best corporate, agency, nonprofit, and education teams.
Coffing has worked at the fast-food chain for 28 years, steering McDonald’s through a period when nutrition, health, workers’ pay, and marketing to children have been just some of the challenges for the industry. Her global team also activates around global sponsorships such as the Olympics and communicates internally, with consumers, media, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
McDonald’s is the official restaurant of the FIFA World Cup, currently taking place in Brazil. As the world's leading global food service retailer, it has in excess of 35,000 locations serving 70 million customers in more than 100 countries each day. Its franchisees employ 1.9 million people worldwide.
"There’s no question that the PRWeek Awards are very special," said Coffing. "They recognize the best of the best; they’re the high watermark of our industry, saluting exceptional strategic thinking, creative excellence, and outstanding execution."
Only 35 trophies are awarded each year and the deadline for entries is October 3. The awards will be presented at a gala celebration in New York City on Thursday, March 19, 2015.
"We all work so very hard and create great work as an industry, so take a minute to bring your work together, enter, and be a part of the group that is celebrating success, taking our work to the next level, and sharing and learning from each other," added Coffing.
