NuVasive hires Cox as EVP

SAN DIEGO: Medical device company NuVasive has appointed Carol Cox as EVP of strategy and corporate communications, effective immediately.

SAN DIEGO: Medical device company NuVasive has appointed Carol Cox as EVP of strategy and corporate communications, effective immediately.

Cox will report to Alex Lukianov, chairman and CEO of NuVasive, and join the company's executive committee, according to a statement.

Her role is newly created. Cox will lead NuVasive's short- and long-term business strategy and create and manage a centralized communications function. Cox will also oversee NuVasive corporate philanthropic and cultural efforts.

Prior to NuVasive, Cox was SVP of external affairs at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute and SVP of external affairs and corporate communications at Life Technologies. She has also served as VP of investor relations at CareFusion and SVP for global corporate communications and investor relations at Barr Pharmaceuticals.
