Smith & Nephew appoints FTI after seven years with Brunswick

FTSE 100-listed medical equipment maker Smith & Nephew has appointed FTI Consulting to handle its corporate and financial PR.

FTI won the account in a competitive pitch after a review that kicked off in the early part of this year. It is taking over from Brunswick, which has advised the company since 2007.

The agency’s team will be led by Debbie Scott, Matthew Cole and Ben Atwell.

Charles Reynolds, VP corporate comms at Smith & Nephew, said: "Smith & Nephew has changed a great deal in recent years as we deliver on our strategy to reshape the group towards areas of higher growth and opportunity.

"We felt it was the right time to review and benchmark our advisers to ensure we continue to tell this story as effectively as possible. We were impressed by FTI’s creative thinking, sector knowledge and global perspective and immensely look forward to working together."
