Ansdell joins from Grupo Santander, where he was digital and mobile attraction director, with responsibility for increasing the use of digital channels with the bank’s customers.
A spokesman for the agency said that the new position had been created to co-ordinate the activities of the specialist teams within its professional & financial services business.
The three directors responsible for these specialist teams, Sally Walton, Jenette Greenwood and Jonathan Atkins, will report to Ansdell, who will also work closely with Redleaf Polhill’s digital and social media team.
Ansdell, who started his career with Polhill Communications prior to its acquisition by Redleaf Communications in 2010, started his new role yesterday.
Emma Kane, chief executive of Redleaf Polhill, said: "Charles' experience and skill set of working in senior communications and digital roles in a blue chip organisation are particularly well suited to the challenges of modern agencies."
The news comes weeks after Newgate owner Porta Communications bought Redleaf Polhill in a three-year deal.
