The agency, which was founded earlier this year, already holds the social and PR strategy account for News UK’s The Sun newspaper and won The Unquiet Film Series following a separate pitch in April.
At the heart of the project are the first ever films about the papers, for which News UK granted access to 229 years of archive material to some of the UK’s best independent film directors.
Leading the project for The Academy is creative director and co-founder Dan Glover, who will report to Nick Stringer, director of marketing communications for News UK.
"We chose The Academy because we felt it understood the concept, matched our passion for its content, and was willing to work as an extension of our team to make it a success," said Stringer. "It's a piece of work we are really proud of, and it's good to have a best in class PR partner to do it justice."
The Academy is leading the publicity around the films, the first four of which – Photojournalism, Designing the News, Question Everything and the Power of Words – have now been released and can be viewed at foreverunquiet.co.uk.
