It is acquiring Deportivo, a Stockholm-based creative comms agency, and will merge it with its own Stockholm office to form Edelman Deportivo.
"Last year Deportivo developed award-winning apps, wearable tech, moving light projections and films that spread across peer-to-peer networks all over the world," said Edelman’s global chair of creative strategy Jackie Cooper.
The move follows Weber Shandwick’s acquisition of 130-strong Swedish PR agency Prime last month.
Hill+Knowlton Strategies last week hired Simon Shaw to lead its new London-based regional creative hub, which it said would be followed by hubs in the US and China.
Edelman reported an 11.4% global organic growth rate in 2013 to more than $740 million in revenue. Profit margin was about 14%, according to PRWeek US' Agency Business Report.
