Recently launched PR agency The Academy has won brand positioning and PR duties for Everreach, a new virtual phone service for small businesses launched by telecoms giant Telefonica.

The service, which comes from Telefonica’s innovation arm, targets SMEs and allows them to pick a ‘virtual’ local or non-geographic national rate number, as well as manage incoming calls online.

A campaign conceived by The Academy, which opened its doors in March, is set to go live this month after the agency won a competitive pitch.

The Academy team is headed by director Gemma Vardon, reporting to Everreach CEO Nick Mullen and product marketing director Tony Joseph.

Joseph said: "[The Academy] has developed a really intelligent – as well as creative – campaign for Everreach and has already been instrumental in supporting the team here and evolving the strategic positioning of the service.  

"Small businesses and start-ups are currently a huge part of the media agenda and we’re hoping Everreach can play a positive part within that with an exciting few months ahead of us."
