The two-day event offers the chance to hear from leaders in the PR field who work for international giants such as IBM, Linkedin, Philips, Nestle and Ford.

PRWeek executive vice-president Julia Hood has opened the event, introducing the first speaker, Jose Manuel Velasco, the general manager of communication and CSR at Spanish infrastructure company FCC Citizen Service.

Tonight delegates will be competing for the inaugural PRWeek Global Awards, including Consumer Launch of the Year and Global PR Breakthrough of the Year.

Danny Rogers, editor-in-chief of PRWeek UK, said: "PRWeek’s first global summit and global awards – when allied with the recent launch of a single global website, PRWeek.com – shows that our strategic priority is to truly service the increasingly professional and globalised communications industry."
