SALT LAKE CITY: Flash storage technology company Fusion-io has appointed Michael Mendenhall, former global CMO at Hewlett-Packard and VP of global marketing at Disney, to serve as EVP and chief communications and marketing officer.
Mendenhall’s main tasks include leading corporate marketing strategy, banding, advertising, digital marketing, social media, promotions, corporate communications, and analyst relations, according to a company statement. He will also handle strategic partnerships, lead generation, and global events for Fusion-io.
Mendenhall and other company representatives were not immediately available for comment.
Most recently, Mendenhall served as co-founder of lifestyle media company Archetypes, Inc., since May 2012, according to his LinkedIn profile. It stated that Mendenhall joined Fusion-io as a communications and marketing adviser in March before he was appointed to his newest role.
In March 2011, Mendenhall joined Lipman, a lifestyle and fashion advertising agency, as president and COO, after stepping down as CMO of Hewlett-Packard several months earlier. Prior to Hewlett-Packard, Mendenhall spent 17 years at Walt Disney, serving in a number of roles, such as president of marketing and synergy for Walt Disney Studios and EVP of global marketing for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
