Vodafone awards UK corporate and brand PR to Burson-Marsteller

Burson-Marsteller is in pole position to land the UK corporate and brand communications account for Vodafone after being made the mobile company's preferred bidder.

The two sides are now in contract negotiations but Vodafone has confirmed the agency will report to its head of external communications Paddy Toyne-Sewell.

The brief, which was previously with Freuds, covers integrated corporate and consumer communications promoting Vodafone’s network and services.

B-M’s work will be led by Ben Maynard, chair of its technology practice, and supported by George Godsal, the new UK chair of corporate and brand.

Toyne-Sewell said: "The Burson-Marsteller team impressed us with its quality of thinking and analysis around our corporate objectives and its creativity in coming up with campaigns that not only meet our strategic needs, but are in tune with our brand's tone of voice and aspirations."
