NEW YORK: CA Technologies has issued an RFP for its PR business, according to numerous sources.
Hill+Knowlton Strategies is the incumbent on the account. The IT management software company is in the middle of the review process, sources with knowledge of the situation told PRWeek.
Representatives from CA Technologies and Hill+Knowlton declined to comment on the situation.
In January, CA Technologies appointed Ronald Alepian, former head of communications and marketing at TMX Group, to serve as SVP and CCO.
Alepian told PRWeek in a previous interview that his main objective as head of communications at CA Technologies is to "make sure there is a strong awareness among a broad array of customers worldwide, and credibility for the company and its newer offerings in the SAS and cloud space."
In late 2012, CA Technologies expanded Hill+Knowlton’s role to include work for its Solutions Group. The firm also took on responsibility for the company’s products and technology PR and messaging across North America.
H+K has worked on corporate communications for the company, including internal communications, community affairs, and executive visibility, since 2010.
Earlier this month, CA Technologies hired Anna Griffin, former marketing executive at Juniper Networks, to serve as SVP of corporate marketing. Griffin, who started in the role on April 21, is reporting to EVP and CMO Lauren Flaherty.
Flaherty, who also previously worked at Juniper, joined CA Technologies in August 2013.
In addition to Hill+Knowlton's CA Technologies account being up for review, the firm recently chose not to participate in the RFP for its Salesforce client, and it lost the Qualcomm business to Weber Shandwick.
