Rogers & Cowan has purchased a social media management firm.

LOS ANGELES: Rogers & Cowan has acquired social media management firm Black Sheep SMG for an undisclosed sum.

Black Sheep will operate as a business unit of Rogers & Cowan, and its staff in New York and Los Angeles will join the global entertainment PR and marketing agency. Black Sheep founder and president Jenna Menking will assume the role of SVP at Rogers & Cowan, reporting to CEO Tom Tardio.

Founded seven years ago, Black Sheep has worked with clients including Bertolli, Myspace, Warner Bros., and AT&T. The firm focuses on growing and managing social media conversations on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Yelp, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Pinterest.

"The Black Sheep acquisition allows the agency to solidify offerings in our core competencies, invest and expand into new specialties and markets, and meet growing demands in the social media space," Tardio said in a statement.
