US Airways has issued an apology for a graphic sexual photo sent to a customer from the company's Twitter handle on Monday.

The tweet, which depicted a naked woman and a toy airplane, was sent in response to a customer complaint with the message, "We welcome feedback, Elle. If your travel is complete, you can detail here for review and follow up."

It took nearly an hour for US Airways to remove the tweet, and the original image garnered more than 500 retweets, according to The Huffington Post.  

Representatives from US Airways have told media outlets that the company is looking into the incident.

It also apologized on Twitter.
