Toyota begins second-largest recall amid GM backlash
Toyota has recalled 6.4 million vehicles, citing issues from steering problems to seat complications in models including the RAV4 and Yaris subcompact. The automaker said it was not aware of any crashes due to the problems. Competitor General Motors, facing public outrage, was fined $28,500 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Tuesday for failing to answer questions about its recall process for malfunctioning ignition switches on Chevrolet Cobalts.
