Stripe won a competitive pitch involving two other agencies and has been appointed to raise awareness of the awards show and other MTV UK-specific initiatives in the run-up to the event.
The annual awards show recognises popular music in Europe and takes place in a different city each year, most recently in Amsterdam, and is screened on MTV's network around the world. This year it will take place at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro venue.
The Edinburgh and Glasgow-based agency has been taken on for an eight-month period.
A spokeswoman for Stripe said it will be targeting MTV's "digital savvy" core audience, using its expertise in consumer brands, social marketing and events, and will also be promoting Scotland as a top music destination.
