WPP takes wraps off international government-sector practice

WPP Group launched a cross-disciplinary government and public-sector practice on Monday that will be supported by agencies Ogilvy Public Relations, Burson-Marsteller, and Hill+Knowlton Strategies.

LONDON: WPP Group launched a cross-disciplinary government and public-sector practice on Monday that will be supported by agencies Ogilvy Public Relations, Burson-Marsteller, and Hill+Knowlton Strategies.

The government communications service will give public-sector organizations a single point of access to WPP’s combined resources, bringing together multidisciplinary teams of agencies to meet clients’ needs.

Areas of activity will include communications for development and public policy, public-sector recruitment, country branding and tourism, trade and investment marketing, and digital government. 

Other PR agencies from across WPP may also become involved over time.

Michelle Harrison, who is also CEO of social research agency TNS BMRB, will lead the practice.

"The practice is there to support the agencies as well as clients. It will also share best practices from our agencies around the world with our clients and give them a single point of access to WPP’s combined resources," she said, via email. "Where appropriate, it will bring together multidisciplinary teams of agencies to meet clients’ needs."
