Allison+Partners hires Weatherbee as talent search lead

Allison+Partners has appointed Alan Weatherbee, previously VP of human resources at Cone Communications, to serve as SVP of talent search, a newly created role at the firm.

BOSTON: Allison+Partners has appointed Alan Weatherbee, previously VP of human resources at Cone Communications, to serve as SVP of talent search, a newly created role at the firm.

Weatherbee is reporting to Andy Hardie-Brown, co-founder and COO of Allison+Partners. He is based in Boston.

The firm created the position as "part of a larger strategy to continue its growth," Weatherbee explained.

His main responsibilities include overseeing recruitment strategy and talent acquisition across all offices and practices globally.

Weatherbee added that part of his work "falls into employer branding and working closely with marketing on shaping exactly what the career experience is going to look like and how we can message that out into the market place."

This year, Weatherbee said he wants to examine the agency and look at areas it can further evolve and add "exciting, entrepreneurial talent," such as in content strategy.

Over the course of the year, he plans to add 20 to 30 staffers to Allison globally, specifically in Shanghai and Beijing.

Weatherbee said San Francisco will also be a focus area for the agency since that is where its headquarters are located. He said the city is the "most competitive talent marketplace" in the country.

Allison will look to expand its corporate offering in various hubs, such as Chicago, as well as its entertainment services in Los Angeles, explained Weatherbee.

Prior to his four and a half years at Cone, Weatherbee served as director of recruitment for Interpublic Group’s GolinHarris, Weber Shandwick, and Rogers & Cowan in Los Angeles for three and a half years.

Before that, he held a management position at Los Angeles-based private staffing firm Apple One, where he represented companies such as New Line Cinema, Fox Entertainment Group, and Walt Disney Studios.
