WASHINGTON: The USAID Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina has awarded a contract to the agency Fabrika Doo Sarajevo to create public awareness campaigns in the country.
Lidija Kranjec, acquisition and assistance specialist at USAID, confirmed the selection.
According to its website, Fabrika is an independent, full-service marketing agency and one of the three largest full-service firms in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It works with both international and domestic clients.
Fabrika’s roots date back to 1985. Its name was established in 1989, following a group of designers’ decision to expand into an agency, according to its website.
In February, USAID asked for proposals from firms with a plan to raise public awareness "and a propensity for public action" through monthly PSA themes. The agency will design each month’s initiative from April through November, according to solicitation documents.
Account work is expected to last nine months beginning in April, and total budgeted activities should not exceed $125,000, according to the document. Firms were asked to include in their proposals a line item setting aside $45,000 for a local venue for a children's event.
Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in both English and Bosnian was required.
USAID's goal is to create "a more stable country closer to Euro-Atlantic integration" by reinforcing two pillars: democracy and governance and economic growth. Bosnia and Herzegovina, located in southeastern Europe, emerged from the former Yugoslavia and the civil war that took place there in the 1990s.
The organization's operating year budget is $34 million.
