SINGAPORE: Jonathan Sanchez, VP of global communications and sustainability at Unilever, has resigned, according to sources.

Sanchez, who led communications responsibilities for Unilever across Russia, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Australia, was overseeing the "blue U" brand campaign for the major CPG holding company.

A Unilever spokesperson was unable to provide further detail but confirmed Sanchez's departure to PRWeek UK.

He has 15 years of experience covering consumer brands, corporate communications, media management, and internal communications. Sanchez joined Unilever in June 2011 after working at Edelman for two years as regional director, where he led consumer marketing across Asia-Pacific.

He moved to Singapore from New York in January 2009 as SVP at Enfatico, where he did a five-month stint before moving to Edelman. Earlier, Sanchez served as global CCO at JWT, IAC, and Havas Worldwide. He also served as a board director at Freud Communications in the UK, where he managed the national Unilever, Nike, and BT businesses for more than four years.
