Mars public affairs chief appointed deputy of World Federation of Advertisers

Matthias Berninger, the vice-president of public affairs at food giant Mars, has been appointed as deputy president of the World Federation of Advertisers.

The WFA claims its members represent 90 per cent of global marketing communications spend.

Berninger replaces Stephen Kehoe, head of global financial inclusion and regional corporate relations at Visa Worldwide.

Martin Riley, chief marketing officer at drinks firm Pernod Ricard, remains president.
