Wine training body turns to Stir PR for consumer campaign

The WIne & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) has called in specialist food and drink agency Stir PR after a three-way pitch to help promote its courses among drinks enthusiasts.

Stir PR will aim to boost awareness of the organisation, which provides international education, training and formal qualifications in wine and spirits for global drinks brand Diageo, winemaker Penfolds and supermarkets such as Tesco and Morrisons.

The organisation has traditionally served professionals in the wine and spirits trade, but it is now seeking to expand its reach further into the consumer market as the number of amateur wine and spirits connoisseurs grows.

The WSET’s UK business development director Graham Cox said: "We look forward to working with Stir PR to raise consumer awareness of the WSET, our courses and events schedule around the UK during the next 12 months, with the ultimate aim of helping wine and spirits enthusiasts grow their knowledge and enhance their enjoyment of the product."

Stir PR MD Alicia Mellish will lead the account, which adds to the agency's growing list of drinks clients, including royal wine merchant Berry Bros & Rudd, Caorunn gin and Penfolds.
