ATLANTA: Cox Enterprises has upped Bob Jimenez to SVP of corporate communications and public affairs from VP.
He was promoted earlier this month. Jimenez is continuing to report to Marybeth Leamer, EVP of HR and administration.
“[Jimenez] will not be replacing anyone under the new title, which is part of the promotion; in addition, no one will be replacing him in the VP role,” said Elizabeth Olmstead, PR manager for Cox Enterprises.
His responsibilities include leading internal communications for the company's 50,000 employees and serving as a strategic thought partner for its executive leadership. He also manages external communications, public affairs, digital communications, issues management, and crisis preparedness, as well as corporate responsibility programming and corporate giving. Additionally, Jimenez oversees the Cox Employee Relief Fund and serves as the agency's chief spokesperson.
Jimenez confirmed that his responsibilities under the new title are consistent with those in his previous role.
“My goal is to provide information to all of Cox's audiences whenever and wherever they need it, leveraging technology to provide a seamless transition of information in the way the individual user prefers in written, digital, or mobile form,” Jimenez said.
Prior to joining Cox in 2003 as director of corporate communications, Jimenez was a director of global communications and international marketing at AFC Enterprises. He held a variety of communications and public affairs roles at Walt Disney World, Florida Hospital, and the Orlando Opera Company.
