Cole to lead FTC public affairs office

WASHINGTON: The Federal Trade Commission has named Justin Cole as director of its office of public affairs.

WASHINGTON: The Federal Trade Commission has named Justin Cole as director of its office of public affairs.

Cole, who will join the agency on February 10, most recently served as press secretary for the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, providing strategic communications counsel to the agency's senior leadership team.

He previously worked as the US corporate communications manager for Tata Communications and as a deputy editor in Fitch Ratings' EMEA corporate communications group in London.

As a journalist, Cole worked as a business and economics correspondent for the Agence France-Presse news agency in Washington, DC, after starting his reporting career at Dow Jones Newswires in London as an energy reporter.
