LONDON: Bell Pottinger's Iain Burns has stepped in to lead the agency's crisis communications team following the departure of Peter Roberts, who is moving to Australia.

Burns, a partner who joined the firm in 2012, has more than 25 years of comms experience, including the positions of VP of corporate comms for Etihad Airways.

Roberts also joined Bell Pottinger from Hill+Knowlton Strategies as crisis comms head in 2012.

“It's a hugely exciting move for the whole family. It's been on the cards for a while, and this year, the timing was right for all of us,” he said. “I wish Bell Pottinger the very best; it has some extremely talented individuals. As for next steps, I'm having very positive conversations with agencies over there. More updates soon I hope."
