SEATTLE: APCO Worldwide has appointed Ericsson and Google veteran Danielle Leach as senior director for corporate communications.
The former head of communications for mobile commerce at Ericsson and one-time leader of corporate communications and public affairs for emerging markets at Google will be based in APCO's Seattle office.
Leach will counsel the firm's clients on corporate communications and brand positioning, international reputation management, and business strategy, with a focus on clients in the technology industry.
Leach said she will report to Maggie Brown, MD for APCO Seattle and leader of the agency's energy and clean technology practice, and will focus on working with clients on “what it means to be an authentic brand.” She added that she is looking forward to using her experience with multinational brands to help both staff and clients.
Leach said she had been talking with APCO's leadership for a few months before her appointment was finalized, adding that the firm reached out to her through a mutual contact.
Leach previously served as global head of communications for the mobile commerce division of Ericsson, where she was responsible for brand strategy and global reputation management for the company's mobile commerce venture. Previously, she worked at Google, overseeing regional public affairs and corporate communications for both Google and YouTube across emerging markets.
Senior director in Brussels James Lovegrove, associate director in London William Wallace, and Shanghai MD Linda Du have also recently joined the firm's technology practice. Scott Friedman, senior director and leader of APCO's technology practice, joined in May of last year.
