BALTIMORE: Mobile advertising company Millennial Media has named Todd Cadley, former MD of Horn's New York office, to serve as head of communications.
Cadley, who started in the VP of communications role on February 18, is reporting to Mollie Spilman, EVP of global sales and operations at Millennial Media.
Cadley's main tasks include overseeing all PR efforts, analyst relations, internal and executive communications, and social media.
His goals are to build the brand awareness and visibility of the company said Cadley.
He added that he wants to work with the executive team to drive education and awareness among key partners such as shareholders, advertisers, publishers and brands about what Millennial Media does.
Cadley said he was attracted to the role in part because the publicly traded company is in two hot spots: mobile and digital media.
“I wanted to do something different with my career, as I've had a long history of IT and infrastructure communications. Given that I'm a New Yorker at heart, digital media is the backbone besides finance in the city, so I really wanted to get involved in this,” he explained.
Cadley joined Horn in January 2012 as an SVP before being promoted to MD of the firm's New York office last March. Previously, he managed marketing communications for EMC's global services division in an eight-year career at the company.
For the fourth quarter of 2013, Millennial Media reported a 44% increase in revenue, year-over-year, to $109.5 million. The company also posted a net loss of $3.7 million in the quarter, compared with a profit of $2.6 million in Q4 2012.
Horn Group hired Debra Raine as a principal in its San Francisco office last month.
