Method Communications expands to San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO: Method Communications has opened the doors to its first San Francisco office to serve technology clients in the region.

The Salt Lake City-based agency's new location will offer services including influencer relations, content creation, digital media, and social media management. Clients based in the Bay Area include mobile rewards company Kiip, mobile security startup Bitglass, and travel app-maker Jetpac.

CEO David Parkinson is leading the San Francisco office by splitting his time between there and the firm's Salt Lake City headquarters. SVP Rachel Kaseroff is also based in the Bay Area office, where Method aims to grow its staff to 10 by the end of March.

Parkinson explained that half of Method's revenue comes from clients in the Bay Area. It is also seeing “huge growth” from Los Angeles, so it is planning to open an office there in the future.

“In the Bay Area, there seems to be a shortage of PR professionals because the market is growing so quickly, which is something we don't have a problem with in Utah,” said Parkinson. “Our real advantage is to keep the Salt Lake City office as our anchor and retrain our great talent there. Within San Francisco, we will be able to go in and hire top talent to run those accounts from [there].”

Method, founded in 2010, has a staff of 40 in Salt Lake City.
