Sherlock Digital will specialise in helping British companies enter the Brazilian market and will offer digital strategy and market-entry consultancy, social media, content and performance campaigns, and design and build services.
The agency has launched with a roster of three UK-based clients within the transport, healthcare and FMCG sectors, which will be led primarily from the Sao Paolo office with support from London.
Townsend and de Oliveira met at Eulogy where they were business strategy director and finance director respectively. They left at separate times last year.
Townsend said Sherlock hoped to combine Brazilian creativity with British strategic thinking. "The standard is very high in Brazil and there is a lot of creative stuff you don’t see in London," he said. "Creativity is pretty unfettered but in the UK planning methodology and strategic thinking are better."
