SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Ketchum has hired Yonnie Woo as GM of the firm's recently acquired South Korean office.

She will be responsible for agency operations and supporting domestic and international clients with a focus on brand marketing, technology, digital, and public and government affairs.

Woo, who will report to Ketchum senior partner and international CEO Jon Higgins, joined the firm from The Hoffman Agency, where she was GM for South Korean operations. She previously worked as a director at Burson-Marsteller and began her career at Korean Air.

Higgins said in a statement that the hire will “further strengthen our ability to represent our clients' interests within Korea as we approach the 2018 Pyeongchange Winter Olympic Games.”

Ketchum began operating in South Korea in September when it acquired agency InComm Brodeur, which worked with clients in IT, consumer technology, healthcare, financial services, public affairs, and consumer.

In November, it also bought Singapore-based Icon International Communications, which was rebranded as Ketchum Icon. It acquired a majority stake in its Greater China and Indian operations in 2011.
