WASHINGTON: Endo Health Solutions has awarded an account in its pharmaceuticals division to Ogilvy Public Relations.
The US-based specialty healthcare company has tasked Ogilvy PR's healthcare practice with providing communications support to Endo Pharmaceuticals' men's health and pain management areas.
Endo Pharmaceuticals is growing and building out its footprint, and Ogilvy is looking forward to helping it build its portfolio, said Kate Cronin, global MD of the agency's healthcare practice.
The selection process only lasted a few weeks, Cronin said, and though she could not disclose how much the contract is worth, Ogilvy is signed to an annual deal with Endo.
“We already started work at the end of last year, and we're busily working across a couple different brands,” she said, declining to name specific product lines Ogilvy is working with. “It's always nice to start off the New Year with a new client, right out of the gate.”
Since 1997, Endo has grown into a specialty healthcare company, focused on delivering branded products, specialty generics, devices, and services through its operating companies, according to its website.
The vetting process took several months, but Endo ultimately “went with the agency we thought would be the best partner,” said Brian O'Donnell, senior director of corporate affairs at Endo.
While both Endo and Ogilvy were mum on contract details, O'Donnell confirmed that the agency is already at work on two projects in the areas of pain management and men's health.
“[Ogilvy has] a lot of deep experience in the areas of the business that we're focused on, and we also feel that they bring a gravitas to our work and to our PR,” said O'Donnell.
Endo Health Solutions worked with GCI Health on communications strategy when it reorganized and rebranded from Endo Pharmaceuticals in May 2012.
