WASHINGTON: Burson-Marsteller grassroots public affairs subsidiary Direct Impact has hired Darren Bearson as EVP.
He will focus on developing issue advocacy campaigns for clients, as well as new business strategy and working to expand the firm's client roster.
Bearson previously served as deputy campaign manager at the Campaign to Fix the Debt. He was also regional political director for the Republican National Committee and executive director of both the Ohio Republican Party and the Republican Party of Minnesota.
Bearson was also a political appointee in the White House under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2007, serving in roles such as liaison to the US Department of Energy, associate policy director, and deputy associate director for presidential personnel.
