Former Yahoo comms leader joins CBS Interactive

NEW YORK: CBS Interactive has named Christine Castro as SVP of communications.

NEW YORK: CBS Interactive has named Christine Castro as SVP of communications.

She will hold the top communications position at CBS Interactive, which operates CBS.com, CBSNews.com, CBSSports.com, CNET, GameSpot, TV.com, and other online properties.

Castro will report to CBS Interactive president and CEO Jim Lanzone and Gil Schwartz, senior EVP and CCO at CBS.

She will work with the GMs of each CBS Interactive property to plan communications strategies to support business objectives, the company said in a statement.

Castro was most recently VP of communications at 23andMe, a personal genetics and biotechnology company. Before that, she served as MD at Kekst and Company, VP of corporate communications at Adobe Systems, and SVP of corporate relations at Genentech. She was also SVP and CCO at Yahoo, VP of corporate communications at Walt Disney, and director of corporate communications at SunAmerica.
