Ogilvy promotes Caggiano to North America content lead

Ogilvy Public Relations has promoted Rachel Caggiano, SVP of Social@Ogilvy, to the newly created role of EVP and North America head of content, effective immediately.

WASHINGTON: Ogilvy Public Relations has promoted Rachel Caggiano, SVP of Social@Ogilvy, to the newly created role of EVP and North America head of content, effective immediately.

Caggiano, who was listed on PRWeek's 40 Under 40 list in 2013, is reporting to Robert Mathias, CEO of North America at Ogilvy PR.

One of Caggiano's main tasks is to develop Ogilvy's content marketing work, specifically focusing on the role of content in PR, reputation management, thought leadership, and advocacy efforts.

“Content is obviously of increasing importance every day, and it's something we have been doing for years, but [Caggiano] is such a talent and has such a strong point of view that I thought creating this position and putting her in charge of it only made sense for our business and for our clients,” explained Mathias.

He added that Caggiano will help the agency strengthen its efficacy in content marketing and how it can be used to engage audiences across landscapes.

During her seven years at the firm, Caggiano, a founding member of Social@Ogilvy, has helped lead the growth of the social media service.

In 2010, she led a team of social media experts supporting client BP in the wake of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and a year later Caggiano was promoted to lead the BP account globally.

Mathias said she will continue working on the BP business.

While at Ogilvy, Caggiano has also counseled UPS, Barclay's, and Five Guys.

Before joining the agency, she served as SVP of client services at Mindshare Interactive Campaigns. She also previously worked at the magazine National Journal
