DENVER: Fleishman-Hillard VP Katy Lachky has joined shoe manufacturer Crocs as VP of communications, a newly created role at the company.

She will lead Crocs' global communications efforts.

“My job function here is building and overseeing both internal and external communications for Crocs, managing the communications department, and putting together strategies for consumer engagement and activation,” Lachky said.

She will report to Crocs CEO John McCarvel and CMO Andrew Davison. Two PR managers will report to her in the US, as well as several regional staffers in Europe and Asia.

Lachky said one of her goals is to highlight how Crocs is all about “comfort, fun, and innovation.” Since 2012 marks the company's 10-year anniversary, the PR team will support several initiatives celebrating the milestone.

Lachky served as a national media specialist during her four-plus years at Fleishman, in addition to her roles as VP and publicist, she said. She managed several consumer accounts in the agency's b-to-c group in its St. Louis office, including Famous Footwear and moving company Mayflower.
