VA renews Reingold for mental health work

WASHINGTON: The Department of Veterans Affairs has renewed its contract with JR Reingold & Associates to continue to work on the "Make the Connection" mental health awareness and stigma reduction campaign.

WASHINGTON: The Department of Veterans Affairs has renewed its contract with JR Reingold & Associates to continue to work on the “Make the Connection” mental health awareness and stigma reduction campaign.

The effort launched in November, 10 months after the department signed its original contract with Reingold. The initiative creates a venue for veterans and their family members to access information and resources to help them confront psychological health issues.

The central focus of the campaign is the MakeTheConnection.net website, which features veterans sharing their experiences. Veterans and their families can view testimonials from other veterans who have dealt with or are working through mental health conditions.

Reingold is also working on research and analysis, strategic planning, outreach, video production, commercial and paid media, development, and design efforts. The new contract is valued at just under $12 million, including all integrated marketing.

“Their understanding and demonstrated topical and contract execution is critical to the mission and could not be replaced in a reasonable period by any other source without duplicating efforts achieved during current task order,” the VA said in a justification document for the renewal.

Neither Reingold nor the VA returned request for comment.
