Florida releases AIDS initiative RFP

TALLAHASSEE, FL: Florida's Department of Health is seeking PR support for several HIV/AIDS and hepatitis observances taking place throughout this year.

TALLAHASSEE, FL: Florida's Department of Health is seeking PR support for several HIV/AIDS and hepatitis observances taking place throughout this year. The promotional efforts will target the state's African-American and Hispanic populations.

The one-year contract is worth $1.2 million to $1.3 million, according to the RFP.

The events include World Hepatitis Awareness Week (May 1 to May 7); National HIV Testing Day (June 27); National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (October 15); and World AIDS Day (December 1).

The winning firm must create a media plan that will include all budgets, media buys, activities, and timelines for the initiatives, as well as a PR strategy that includes the writing and disseminating of all media advisories.

Responses to the RFP are due March 14, and the state expects to make a decision by April 18 for the one-year contact. A state representative declined to comment on the RFP.
